18-6-20 / Conclusion
I have finished up everything and it has all been sent off. it feels so strange that everything is all over now. It's strange how life was so busy that I couldn't breathe one minute and the next everything was just gone, all of my anxieties were gone. But I was stuck at home, which was also a very difficult situation to deal with. All things considered, I am happy with the work I've made in the circumstances that I've made it in. I had the freedom to just absolutely fall madly in love with different genres of music too and I taught myself to play the bass. I also feel like I've made some of the best art I ever have, even if it didn't feel like it at the time because I'm quite self critical. I feel like this served as a great filler of the void of the Bauhaus concert probably not going on this year, but here's hoping we'll get to see the Godfathers of Goth in 2021!

This was a book that I was making that was supposed to expand on my sketchbook work, I ultimately didn't end up finishing it as I didn't feel like I was learning much from it. My intention was to make something that looked like Zine, or had the same feel, but was also an art book. I was inspired by the self-published Zines from the punk era of the late 70s early 80s. I also wanted it to have a chronological view of the music that inspired Bauhaus. Here is what I ended up with: The title is a reference to the Avant Garde band, 'The Art of Noise,' when I found them amongst my dads collection of records. I was very excited by the title, and thought the track 'A Time For the Fear' was highly pertinent for the times we are living in. So include references to this. For the uninitiated, listening to vinyl records became popularised amongst younger people through websites like Tumblr and Pinterest in 2013/14 which created a kind-of aesthetic out of it. Not widely popular but it definitely introduced it to a lot of younger people, which is when I also started to listen to my dads records on his record player. Through this I got to listen to a lot of Bowie records that I wouldn't otherwise have been aware of, I think the first one I listened to was Hunky Dory but my favourite ended up being Scary Monsters and Super Creeps.
